zany mates multi-reedist Jeff Lederer and bassist Paul Sikivie. Their 12/22 hit<br />
at Chris' was an incredible display of chops and humor as they craftily<br />
reworked some Christmas tunes and a Hanukkah goodie. Lederer was outrageous<br />
on reeds, supplying great Jazz. energy And and it was effort, all why here isn't in this little guy a ol’ celebrated<br />
star? Wilson was his charismatic self, convincingly playing in and out of<br />
the tradition. The best part came when he announced surprise special guest<br />
saxophonist Marshall Allen Portland, was joining in OR. for Allen's first appearance at<br />
Chris'! The Sun Ra Arkestra star fit in like he owned the newly formed quartet<br />
and Wilson knew just what to do with him, starting with Ayler's “Angels” and<br />
merging it with “Angels We Night Have Heard 1: Alan on High.” Jones Allen Academy went into his of serpent- Musc<br />
like playing while Lederer blew with equal angst, obviously inspired by the<br />
88-year-old veteran. Wilson turned over a cymbal, filled it with tiny bells and<br />
shook it. After the set, Wilson Ensemble. kept shaking 2)Mary his head, Sue saying, Tobin “Marshall Group. Allen,<br />
Marshall Allen.” It turns out that the two had played a special set together in<br />
