Rank Advancement above Tenderfoot requires service hours. A service project
will be organized each semester and will take place on a Saturday and last for three
to six hours. This is in addition to the Troop’s continued involvement with
Lovett’s service projects such as CAP. (See the calendar for details.)
The Scout Service Committee will plan and supervise troop service projects
throughout the year. These projects fulfill a key goal of scouting. The service
committee is composed of adult scout leaders and the Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader (ASPL).
Eagle Service Projects: The service hours for assisting Eagle projects will be
summarized in the Eagle project write-up, and submitted to the Troop Record
Keeper. Upon completion of this write-up, all Scout helpers are credited with their
hours as if all the service was given on the last day of the project.
Other Qualifying Service Projects: Service hours completed by Scouts at
churches, schools, or other charitable organizations will qualify as service hours.
Please bring a note signed from the project leader describing your role, the
beneficiary of your efforts, and the time and date completed. Please indicate the
number of hours served and give to the Scoutmaster.
