10.3.1.3. Training. Completion of the 7-level CDC and the aircraft armament systems<br />

craftsman course is mandatory for award of the 7-skill level.<br />

10.3.1.4. Experience. Qualification in and possession of <strong>AFSC</strong> 2W151. Also, experience<br />

performing or supervising functions such as loading and unloading munitions, or maintaining,<br />

repairing, and modifying munitions launch, release, suspension, or aircraft gun systems.<br />

10.3.1.5. Other. See paragraph 10.1.1.5.<br />

10.3.2. Training Sources and Resources. Seven level upgrade training will be conducted by<br />

certified trainers using applicable core tasks, 2W171 CDC, and the formal 7-level resident course<br />

J3ACR2W171. Additional information on the 7-level course is available from the Education and<br />

Training Course Announcements (ETCA) at https://etca.randolph.af.mil/.<br />

10.3.3. Implementation. Entry into upgrade training is initiated on the first day of the<br />

promotion cycle an individual is selected for promotion to SSgt. Qualification training is<br />

initiated anytime an individual is assigned duties they are not qualified to perform. The 7-skill<br />

level is awarded to individuals who complete 12 months of UGT, qualification on all STS 7-level<br />

core tasks identified for the assigned duty position, completes the 2W171 CDC, completes the<br />

J3ACR2W171 048 course, and attains the minimum grade of SSgt.<br />

10.4. Superintendent Level Training:<br />

10.4.1. Specialty Qualification. This information will be located in the official specialty<br />

description in AFECD, paragraph 3.<br />

10.4.1.1. Knowledge. The Armament Superintendent should have advanced knowledge and<br />

skills on all aspects of the armament career field.<br />

10.4.1.2. Education. No additional educational requirements for award of the 9-skill level.<br />

10.4.1.3. Training. Completion of the advanced aircraft armament systems course is mandatory<br />

for award of the 9-skill level (effective 1 Mar 2013). (Not mandatory for AFRC.)<br />

10.4.1.4. Experience. Qualification in and possession of <strong>AFSC</strong> 2W171. Also, experience<br />

managing and controlling functions such as loading and unloading munitions, or maintaining,<br />

repairing, and modifying munitions launch, release, suspension, or aircraft gun systems.<br />

10.4.1.5. Other. See paragraph 10.1.1.5.<br />

10.4.2. Training Sources and Resources. Unit OJT will be used for training.<br />

10.4.3. Implementation. Entry into upgrade training is initiated when an individual possesses<br />

the 7-skill level and required grade. Qualification training is initiated anytime an individual is<br />

assigned duties they are not qualified to perform.<br />

11. Purpose. This section identifies known resource constraints, which preclude optimal and<br />

desired training from being developed or conducted, including information such as cost and<br />
