Classica S 70 – The Best of a Timeless Clockmaking Tradition
The Sattler Classica S 70 is a pendulum clock containing
a so-called strike train, housed within a case that is timeless
and elegant. Two versions are available: black varnish with
nickel-plated metal elements or maple with jacaranda inlay
and black lacquered molding.
This clock’s wonderful look is complemented by two
blued steel hands that display the hours and minutes on a
precious enamel dial, giving the 70-centimeter Classica S 70
its equally characteristic and timeless appearance.
The Classica S 70 integrates itself perfectly into its surroundings,
becoming a unique eye-catcher in the middle of a classical
environment or in a room decorated with extravagant chrome
and steel furniture.
This clock, outfitted with a week’s worth of power reserve,
looks fantastic from every perspective. Sattler Caliber 1400-4
is a classic strike mechanism in every regard. Its traditional
design and finish guarantee reliable functions for generations
– just as the original Vienna regulators were two hundred
years ago.
The front base plate is secured to the pillars by so-called
locking pins as are all the levers of the strike mechanism on
the strike mechanism’s pillars. This design results in consistent
precision and highest reliability of the strike mechanism’s
controls. The complete gear train is outfitted with fourteen
jewel and four ball bearings, significantly contributing to the
movement’s longevity.
An additional technical feature of the Classica S 70 is that
the owner has the opportunity to activate the strike mechanism
manually up to the fiftieth minute by pulling a silk string located
on the exterior of the case, thus allowing the previous hour to
repeat. The result is a unique auditory joy thanks to Sattler’s
own strike movement.
