The regulator pulley clock with a one-month movement
ranks among the classics of the Sattler collection. While the
Classica K 100 is outfitted with calendar function and moon
phase display, the two driving weights of the Classica S 100
allow one to immediately recognize that it is outfitted with a
striking movement. Reacting to frequent requests from
horological connoisseur circles desiring a striking clock with
calendar and thirty days of power reserve, we have
developed this new clock. The Classica KS 100 not only
shows the date and the day of the week with its hands, but
also acoustically and subtly chimes the time, striking one tone
on the half-hour and the full number of tones on the hour
on one fine gong.
The calendar and the strike train are positioned on the front
plate, directly beneath the silver-plated dial. There are two
variations to choose from, and the matching blued steel hands
are additionally available to match the Roman or Arabic hour
numerals. The hand-painted moon disk has been moved
from its previous 12 o’clock position to the lower edge of the
dial. Thus, we were able to add the S 100’s display of
seconds here.
Two Clocks in One – Classica KS 100
Naturally, this new Sattler manufacture movement is outfitted
with fourteen jewel bearings and eight precision ball
bearings. Thanks to this, we were able to achieve a nearly
friction-free movement destined to last for generations.
Though for years we have been making the bezel from
solid brass, here for the first time we see the pendulum bob
created from a thick disk of brass as well.
Fortunately, the new, much more
complicated movement has
enough room in the case of the
original model crafted in
ebony or black piano lacquer
with a depth of only 11 cm.
