Day-before Check-in
At Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham, you can check in at the airport from 12pm to 10pm
the day before you travel, subject to availability. All members of your group need to check-in
together. This is to meet the Department For Transport’s security requirements. You’ll need
everyone’s tickets, passports and luggage. Day-before Check-in is free if you’re flying with
Thomson Airways from Gatwick and Manchester and you don’t need to book. At Birmingham,
you’ll need to book this service and there may be a charge.
If you’re travelling to a destination that has additional security at check-in, we won’t be able
to issue your boarding cards. At the moment, this includes flights to the United States.
You can still check in your luggage but you’ll need to return to check-in the following morning
to pick up your boarding cards. Bear in mind, Day-before Check-in isn’t available for cruises
to the Caribbean and the Red Sea.
Delays
Depending on airport facilities, we provide light refreshments for a delay of two to four hours,
a meal – or vouchers for a meal – for four to eight hours, overnight accommodation for delays
of eight to 12 hours if it’s necessary and possible.
If a delay is longer than five hours, you can cancel your flight and we’ll refund the flight part
of your holiday. We’ll only refund the whole cost of your holiday if we change or cancel your
holiday. We set out exactly what this means in Our Agreement With You.
If you’ve booked your complete cruise holiday – including flights, transfers and the cruise
itself – with us and there’s a flight delay, we’ll make sure you get to the ship.
See Insurance for more details.
Dress Code
Men need to wear long trousers, shirts with sleeves, and shoes for dinner in most hotels.
See Gala Meals and Formal Nights for more details. On the cruise front, it’s smart casual
for evenings. For men that means full-length trousers and a polo or open-necked shirt.
At the captain’s cocktail party, the dress code is traditional dinner wear, so tuxedo or suit
and tie for men, and evening dress for women.
Each itinerary has its own entertainment programme but you’ll need to bear in mind, if you’re
combining two itineraries with the same name to make one holiday, you may find some of the
acts are repeated. Also, just so you know, we may need to change guest acts and speakers.
