soaK up the sea views from alanya Castle,
a 2nd-century BC fortress that towers over the
whole town. it’s huge, and it’s surrounded by
six-kilometre-long walls which snake down the hill
to alanya’s old quarter. While you’re here, take a
look at hurling rock – it’s where condemned
prisoners were thrown to their deaths into the sea.

Alexandria - EGYPT
steP back in time with a visit to the national
museum in Cairo. it houses the biggest and most
important collection of egyptian artefacts in the
world – there are over 120,000 ancient objects here.
You’ll get up close to the mummified remains
of pharaohs and queens, and see the treasures
unearthed from tutankhamun’s tomb back in 1922.
Day 5 Sunday 05:00 - 19:30
Port Said (for Cairo) - EGYPT
Wander around the ruins in memphis, egypt’s
first capital city that was founded in 3100 BC.
Best bits include the temple of Ptah, the fallen statue
of King ramses ii, and the sphinx of King amenhopis
ii. ruins aside, the memphis Gardens are filled
with palms, pathways and interesting sculptures,
so find a spot here to relax, too.

maKe your way up to the masada Fortress in a
cable car. it’s set 434 metres above sea level, so the
views are incredible. But it’s the history that draws
most people. it’s the site of the Jews’ last stand
against the romans back in the days of King herod.
explore the ruins of the synagogue and the baths,
as well as herod’s three-tiered palace.
Day 7 Tuesday 00:01 - 18:00
Ashdod - ISRAEL
PaY a visit to old Jaffa, one of the oldest cities in the
world. it’s got a beautiful old port, and its streets are
lined with mosques, museums and markets. What’s
more, if you head to Jaffa’s observation point, you’ll
get unspoilt views over the ‘white city’ of tel aviv,
so-called because of its Bauhaus architecture.
Day 8 Wednesday Arrive 08:00
Limassol - CYPRUS
taKe a trip to Paphos and explore the tombs of
the Kings. this underground graveyard dates back
to the 4th century BC and, despite its royal name,
it was actually a burial chamber for aristocrats,
not kings. Journey through the winding passageways
to get a look at the incredible frescoed walls and
the huge doric columns.
*Just so you know for the departure on 27th March
the itinerary will operate in reverse order and will
stop in Haifa in Israel on Day 2 instead of Ashdod.
