The Son Matias is a big sandy-coloured hotel that takes<br />
pride of place on Palma Nova’s waterfront. Just footsteps<br />
from the beach, and within flip-flopping distance of the bars,<br />
shops and restaurants, it’s a great central base for seeing<br />
the best of Palma Nova.<br />
Aside from the winning location, it’s the generous helping<br />
of entertainment that helps make this place so popular.<br />
It’s an adults-only hotel, so during the day things are pretty<br />
laid-back and focus mainly on the pool. It’s just a frisbeethrow<br />
from the beach and comes framed by a sun terrace<br />
and palms. Come sunset though, things are turned up a<br />
notch, with professional acts, cabaret and dance shows.<br />
Couple great entertainment with a decent dining scene<br />
and things look even rosier. The restaurant here is a buffet<br />
specialising in Spanish and British meals so you can start<br />
the day with a fry-up and end it with a local dish like paella.<br />
Other highlights include themed buffets and gala dinners<br />
