Whether it's Rome, Barcelona, Lisbon or
St-Tropez, our carefully planned itineraries
around the Mediterranean include the crème
de la crème of cosmopolitan Europe.
AjAccio, Corsica
Rugged peaks, emerald countryside, twinkling blue waters – Corsica’s been plucked
from the prettiest postcard. Rising up from one of the most beautiful gulfs in the
world is Ajaccio, a charming town. An impressive place in its own right, it’s also your
gateway to the sensational scenery and sleepy towns that this isle is famous for.
• Pay a visit to the ancient Greek village of Cargese, which is set on a clifftop at
the northern tip of Sagone bay.
AlgierS, Algeria
The French have given Algiers the nickname of ‘la blanche’, or, ‘the white one’.
And, as you glide into its harbour, you’ll understand why. Algeria’s capital is a
sprawling, whitewashed city that’s sandwiched between sweeping farmland and
the Mediterranean Sea. Follow the narrow, winding streets, and you’ll come
across sleepy cafés and pottery shops.
• Algiers’ Casbah is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient walled quarter
is filled with winding alleyways, souks and mosques.
AlicAnte, Spain
A palm-lined promenade packed with waterfront cafés. Whitewashed houses
freckled with fuchsia geraniums. World class museums stacked with futuristic
attractions. That’s Alicante in a nutshell, a buzzing city crowned by a fairytale
fortress. Of course, this corner of Spain has another string to its bow.
Swathe after swathe of powder-soft sand. Get your fix of history in Murcia.
This city’s origins can be traced back to 800AD, so you’ll find a timeline’s worth
of architecture here. Don’t miss the 15th-century Santa Maria Cathedral or the
11th-century Castle of Monteagudo.
• Check out the town of Villajoyosa and pay a visit to the Valour Chocolate Factory.
You’ll be given a tour and get the chance to sample some of the treats yourself.
