Basic coated stick electrode for highstrength<br />

tempered fine-grained steels<br />

Application field<br />

<strong>UTP</strong> 6020 is suited for construction- and repair welds of high-strength heat-treated fine-grained steels with<br />

70 - 90 kp/mm 2 tensile strength. Low alloyed, heat-treated steels of similar strength can be welded as well.<br />

Welding properties<br />

<strong>UTP</strong> 6020 is weldable in all positions except vertical down. Easy slag removal, smooth, notch-free weld surface.<br />

The deposit is crack-proof. Recovery approx. 115%.<br />

Welding instruction<br />

Keep a short arc during the welding process. The stick electrode should not be weaved broader than 3x of<br />

the core wire diameter. Dry storage for stick electrodes. Before the welding process, possibly re-drying<br />

2 - 3 h at 250 - 300 °C<br />
