Business Computer Applications Option
The goal of the Business Administration - Business Computer Applications program is to prepare students for employment in a job related
to their focus area (Accounting, Finance, Management, or Marketing) by providing a theoretical and practical foundation in the focus area
subject matter and by equipping them with needed skills in the use of application software that is appropriate to their focus area.
Each Focus is designed to provide the student with a strong background in focus area and related business skills, coupled with a proficiency
in the use of computers. The business and focus area courses are selected from the standard college course offerings, while the computer
courses supplement the business skills and answer the question, "How do computers relate to business and the focus area?" rather than
"How do computers work?". Graduates of the program will be well qualified for focus area related entry-level positions in business and
industry. (Co-op available)
Common core course listings and definitions appear on pages 48-50. Placement testing will determine the sequencing
of courses. Additional courses may be required. The suggested sequence for full-time students is shown below.
