AnalytiralGcometry.-The straight line and circle.<br />
Equations of the Conic Sect·ions deduced from their<br />
geometrical definitions with their elementary proper·<br />
ties. Easy problems.<br />
Differential Calculus .-Differentiation of functions,<br />
explicit and implicit, of a single variable. MaxiIlla<br />
and minima of functions of a single variable. Tangents,<br />
normals, and curvature of plane curves. Envelopes.<br />
Integral Calculus.-Integration of functions of 11<br />
single variable, Reduction formuhe. Quadrature and<br />
rectification of plane curves. Quadrature and cubature<br />
of solids of re\'olution.<br />
[Candidate3 may take as an aiternative course the<br />
Honours Course of the Second lear Arts and Science,<br />
but "re recommeuded not to do so unless they intend<br />
