The following exemptions may be granted from the<br />
above Examination:-<br />
(1) _\ Candidate who obtained First Class Honours<br />
with the B.E. Degree or who submits satisfactory<br />
evidence, in the form of designs<br />
executed, and a written account of work<br />
carried out by him, that he has been engaged<br />
on works of considerable importance may, on<br />
the report of the Examiners, be exempt from<br />
part Ca).<br />
(2) A Candidate ma,v present a Thesis on some<br />
branch of Engineering which may be accepted<br />
as an alternative to the Examination under<br />
section Cb). He shall be examined on the<br />
subject of his Thesis or any matter intimately<br />
connected with it,<br />
The Thesis shall consist of a record (published<br />
or not) of original work, or of an essay<br />
on some branch of Engineering involving<br />
criticism.<br />
A Candidate for the Degree shall fulfil one of the<br />
follclwing conditions:-<br />
. (i) He shall have been engaged in the Design and<br />
Construction of Engineering works of an<br />
approved character for at least two years<br />
after graduation,<br />
:\ detailed statement as to such experience<br />
vouched for by the Engineer or Engineers<br />
in charge, must be submitted,<br />
Or<br />
(ii) He shall have been engaged for at least two<br />
veal'S in Research Work in Engineering<br />
'Science in an adequately equipped Laboratory,<br />
and submit a Thesis on the result of<br />
his work, vouched for by the Professor or<br />
Head of the Laboratory.<br />
All candidates for the Degree of M.E. must give<br />
six months' notice to the Dean of the Faculty of the<br />
College, of the'tranches of study: in :vhich they intend<br />
to present themselves for exammatlOn.<br />
