3. Ordinary Entrance Scholarships are tenable for<br />
the first year in any of the Faculties of the College.<br />
The Entrance Scholarship in ,Agriculture is tenable by<br />
a Connacht or Clare student who takes out in this<br />
College the Courses required for the First University<br />
Examination in Agricultural Science.<br />
4. A candidate cannot compete both for an ordinary<br />
Entrance Scholarship and an Entrance Scholarship in<br />
Agriculture .<br />
. 5. These Scholarships will be awarded on the results<br />
of an examination to be held in the end of June or<br />
in the beginning of July, 1921. The practical Examination<br />
in Practical Agriculture will be held on the<br />
Department's farm at Athenry, and the other Examinations<br />
will be held in the College Examination Hall.<br />
6. An admission card and a time-table will be sent<br />
hy the Registrar to each candidate for an Entrance<br />
Scholarship before the 22nd June, 1921.<br />
7. A student may sit for the Examination for<br />
Eutrance Scholarship!!, even though he has not passed<br />
the Matriculation Examination of the National University<br />
of Ireland, or any Examination accepted by that<br />
University in lieu thereof, but a successful candidate<br />
for an Entrance Scholarship must send the Registrar<br />
of the College, on or before 15th October, 1921, a certificate<br />
signed by the Registrar of the National University<br />
of Ireland that he is a Matriculated student thereof.<br />
8. (1) Candidates for Entrance Scholarships must<br />
present themselves for a qualifying Examination<br />
in English. No Entrance Scholarship<br />
shall be awarded to any student whose work<br />
in English-and especially in English Composition,<br />
Grammar and Spelling-is not, in<br />
the opinion of the Examiners, satisfactory.<br />
