Wet Spring, More Mowing
The Parks Operation Shop has kept all the equipment up and running this year with very little
down time. The Parks Operations Manager trained the crew on signs and problems occurring in
the machinery last season and over the winter. This year we have had less downtime even though
we have had more mowing and faster growth times. The crew is keeping the machines clean and
lubed as part of a more professional standard of excellence.
New School Mowing Crew Successful
This year we reorganized the Parks Operations section to have a seasonal mowing crew to handle
the school mowing. Our goal was to reduce complaints and to provide better service. This year
we have had better communication with the school principals and have had 100% success rate in
mowing each school site on a 14-day cycle. We have also been able to work around the school
testing programs and special events at the school facilities.
