AP at Position “R”
Figure 5.13 shows <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong> distance, RSS and throughput when <strong>the</strong> AP was located
at position “R”. Even though RSS was same on different measurement points,
throughput could be different. For example, measurement point “(H-3.5m)H-F” and
“M” had <strong>the</strong> same RSS (-71 dBm, refer table B.5). Both measurement points were
located in <strong>the</strong> NLOS from <strong>the</strong> AP. The throughput <strong>of</strong> measurement point “(H-3.5m)H-F”
was 5.662 Mbps, which was lower than measurement point “M” (7.314 Mbps).
However, <strong>the</strong> distance between “(H-3.5m)H-F” and <strong>the</strong> AP was 21.29 meters, while <strong>the</strong>
distance between “M” and <strong>the</strong> AP was only 13.83 meters, thus distance is one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> key
factors to determine WLAN throughput.
