AP at Positi<strong>on</strong> “R”<br />

<strong>Fi</strong>gure 5.13 shows <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> results <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> distance, RSS and throughput when <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> AP was located<br />

at positi<strong>on</strong> “R”. Even though RSS was same <strong>on</strong> different measurement points,<br />

throughput could be different. For example, measurement point “(H-3.5m)H-F” and<br />

“M” had <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> same RSS (-71 dBm, refer table B.5). Both measurement points were<br />

located in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> NLOS from <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> AP. The throughput <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> measurement point “(H-3.5m)H-F”<br />

was 5.662 Mbps, which was lower than measurement point “M” (7.314 Mbps).<br />

However, <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> distance between “(H-3.5m)H-F” and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> AP was 21.29 meters, while <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

distance between “M” and <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> AP was <strong>on</strong>ly 13.83 meters, thus distance is <strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> key<br />

factors to determine WLAN throughput.<br />
