At the top of this screen, you’ll see an option to turn on “24-hour time,” also known as military time, in which you see “1700” instead of “5:00 p.m.” (You’ll see this change everywhere times appear, including at the top edge of the screen.) “Set Automatically” refers to the iPhone’s built-in clock. If this item is turned on, then the iPhone finds out what time it is from an atomic clock out on the Internet. If not, then you have to set the clock yourself. (Turning this option off makes two more rows of controls appear automatically: one for your time zone and a “number spinner” so you can set the clock.)
