Here lies Mary, the wife of John Ford,
We hope her soul is gone to the Lord;
But if for Hell she has chang'd this life
She had better be there than be John Ford's wife.

Beneath this stone in hopes of Zion
Doth lie the landlord of the Lion;
His son keeps on the business still,
Resigned unto the heavenly will.

Here lies my wife,
Here lies she;

Vile Stanhope, demons blush to tell,

Has shown his son the road to Hell,
Escorted by the Graces.
But little did th' ungenerous lad
Concern himself about 'em;
For, base, degenerate, meanly bad,
He sneak'd to Hell without 'em.
