<strong>Croatia</strong> shall ensure a gradual reduction of waste l<strong>and</strong>filled in existing non-compliant l<strong>and</strong>fills in<br />

accordance with <strong>the</strong> following annual maximum quantities:<br />

– by 31 December 2013: 1 710 000 tonnes<br />

– by 31 December 2014: 1 410 000 tonnes<br />

– by 31 December 2015: 1 210 000 tonnes<br />

– by 31 December 2016: 1 010 000 tonnes<br />

– by 31 December 2017: 800 000 tonnes<br />

<strong>Croatia</strong> shall provide <strong>the</strong> Commission by 31 December of each year starting with <strong>the</strong> year of<br />

accession a report concerning <strong>the</strong> gradual implementation of <strong>the</strong> Directive <strong>and</strong> compliance with<br />

intermediate targets.<br />

IV. WATER QUALITY<br />

1. 31991 L 0271: Council Directive 91/271/EEC of 21 May 1991 concerning urban waste water<br />

treatment (OJ L 135, 30.5.1991, p. 40).<br />

By way of derogation from Articles 3, 4, 5, 6 <strong>and</strong> 7, <strong>the</strong> requirements for collecting systems <strong>and</strong><br />

treatment of urban waste water shall apply in <strong>Croatia</strong> as from 1 January 2024, in accordance with<br />

<strong>the</strong> following intermediate targets:<br />
