Make Your Own Costume—Chamois Bikini
To make this costume, you will need a package of chamois leather. This is available
from any hardware store or auto parts store. Chamois is used to dry off cars after they
are washed. The leather is very thin and extremely soft. You will also need some
leather thong material, which can be found at a leather or crafts store. If you are not
used to making or designing costumes, don’t worry. It is easy! Use sheets of paper and
sketch out a rough pattern and cut it out with scissors. Try it on your willing model.
Keep doing this and adjusting it until you are satisfied with the fit. You need two triangles
for the top to cover the breasts. The bottom is one piece designed to wrap
between the woman’s legs, covering the front pubic area and then underneath and
across the bottom like a thong bathing suit would. Each suit piece will be a different
size, depending on the amount of pubic hair to cover and the size and shape of her
breasts and nipples. It takes a bit of trial and error. If the woman you are working with
is a bit modest or simply wants to help, explain what you are doing, and let her cut
the paper pattern herself. Once you are satisfied that the fit is good, lay the patterns on
the chamois material and cut them out with scissors. You should be able to get several
different sizes out of one piece of chamois. Cut your chamois a little larger than your
pattern shows. It is much easier to trim it down a bit than to try to stretch it. Once
you have a good fit, punch small holes in the corners of the pieces to put the thongs
through. Look closely at the figures to see one way that you can attach the leather
thong material.
