Women seem to love firefighters. In one survey, it was called “the sexiest profession in
America.” Who can argue with that? If women love firefighters, then what could be
sexier than dressing up as one? Getting a real firefighter outfit is a little more difficult
than the other costumes. Perhaps you know a firefighter and can borrow an extra set
of gear. You can also purchase pieces on eBay. Since you will not be using the equipment
to fight fires, you can purchase “out of service” gear and save some money. This
gear will be missing a piece, or have some tears in it. Although those kinds of issues are
important to firefighters about to enter a burning building, they are not very important
to a photography session. To get started, you need a helmet and a pair of turnout
pants with suspenders, of course! On eBay, or a similar site, you can find these items
for a total cost of less than 50 dollars, perhaps a lot less. If you use borrowed equipment,
many fire departments are sensitive about having their name or logo showing in
sexy photographs, so be forewarned. Most of the time, the names are on the back of
the jacket and on the back or sides of the helmet. It is easy to work around the names
if you manage to borrow the turnout gear. Add to the gear an axe, a fire extinguisher,
or a hose and nozzle to complete the look. Your model can wear lingerie underneath
or nothing at all. If lingerie is going to be used, red is very popular. The posing possibilities
are enormous, as shown in these samples.
