difficult to attend a racing event anywhere and not find Valvoline .
Vaivoline's first organised venture into motorsports began with the Nagooal
Hot Rod Association's U .S. National drag races at Indianapolis. Indials
in 1962 . In 1963, Valvoline went to the famed Indianapolis Motor
Speedway and lubricated two Novi cars . Valvoline also lubricated Can-Am
Ma GT cars and many other types of road racers in the mid . 1960s . In 1969,
Valvoline moved into the largest service garage at Indianapolis and
lubricated most of the cars in the race . At that time, Valvoline had emerged
u a motor oil that was fast becoming almost synonymous with motorsports
throughout the world.
In 1970, Al Unser gave Valvoline its first Indy victory . Six of the 10 Indy
winners of the decade ran on Valvoline . A .J. Foyt, one of the world's most
famous drivers, won an unprecedented fourth Indy victory with Valvoline
Racing Oil in 1977 .
In stock car racing, Cale Yarborough made history of his own in a
Valvolfne-lubricated car . He won three consecutive NASCAR Grand Na .
tional titles from 1976-1978, completely dominating the highly competitive
NASCAR circuit.
