Jay Parry
Senior Vice President, Brand and Business Development
After seven seasons as president and chief operating officer of the WNBA’s Phoenix
Mercury, Jay Parry joins the Suns as Senior Vice President of Brand and Business
Development. She oversees all day-to-day operations of the Ticket Sales, Premium Seats,
Suns Digital Media, CRM and Database Marketing, Public Relations, Marketing and Community
Relations departments.
In seven years at the helm of the Mercury, Parry helped lead the organization to two
WNBA championships (2007, 2009) and to double-digit business growth in the areas of corporate partnerships
and acquiring new fans. Perhaps most notably, Parry was a driving force behind the Mercury’s innovative alliance
with Tempe-based LifeLock, an industry leader in identity theft protection, that resulted in the first-ever corporatebranded
jersey in WNBA or NBA history. The partnership was originally announced in June 2009 and then expanded
to include the club’s practice jerseys in March 2010, blazing the trail for other major league sports teams to sell
sponsorships on jerseys.
Prior to joining the Mercury, Parry served as executive vice president of Bank of America’s 10-state central
region.
A native of Del Mar, California, Parry earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Colorado
in Boulder. She currently serves on the boards of Arizona Women’s Education and Employment (AWEE), Harris Private
Bank, Phoenix Thunderbird Charities and Phoenix Suns Charities.
Julie Fie
Vice President, Basketball Communications
Julie Fie, a senior member of the NBA’s public relations community, serves as the club’s
primary liaison between the media and the team’s players and management for all basketball
communications. Fie and her staff are responsible for media interviews and requests and
the dissemination of information locally, nationally and internationally. This includes news
conferences, press releases, game night press accommodations and credentialing, the
production of media guides, game notes, and statistics.
A former member of the NBA Public Relations Advisory Board, Fie joined the Suns in 1992. In 2007, she and
her staff won the inaugural Professional Basketball Writers Association Media Relations Staff of the Year award,
now known as the Brian McIntyre Award. Fie, now in her 19th season with the Suns, was promoted to her current
position in July 1998.
Originally joining the NBA with the Kansas City Kings as assistant public relations director, Fie was elevated
to director the following season and remained with the club as the franchise relocated to Sacramento. She remained
there until joining the Suns.
A communications graduate from Iowa State University, Fie spent two years as an undergraduate with the ISU
sports information department. She is a native of Jefferson, Iowa.
Jeramie McPeek
Vice President, Digital
Jeramie McPeek enters his 19th season with the Suns and leads the organization’s digital
and social media efforts, including eight in-house websites, the teams’ channels on
Facebook and Twitter, as well as the club’s print publications.
Under his guidance, Suns.com has twice been named the top team site in the league
by The Sports Business Journal (2002, 2004) and received the Website of the Year Award
from the NBA in 2007. McPeek was also recognized with two Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards
in 2008 for his direction of the Suns’ official fan community (PlanetOrange.net) and a virtual tour of the team’s
clubhouse (SunsLockerRoom.com).
In addition to his position with the Suns, McPeek is the editor at large for the NBA’s official magazine, HOOP.
A Phoenix native, McPeek graduated from Arizona State University in 1995 with a degree in journalism. He and
his wife, Amy, have two children, Sam and Abby.
