9/15: Reached buyout agreement with Sasha
Pavlovic, whose contract was acquired as
part of the deal that sent Shaquille O’Neal
to Cleveland.
9/18: Head Athletic Trainer Aaron Nelson named
Athletic Trainer of the Year by National
Basketball Athletic Trainers Association
(NBATA).
9/28: Announced the signings of Dan Dickau,
Carlos Powell and Raymond Sykes to
training camp contracts.
10/5: Robin Lopez underwent surgery to repair a
broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot
suffered at training camp … Waived
Raymond Sykes.
10/21: Waived Dan Dickau and Carlos Powell.
10/26: Claimed Jarron Collins off waivers.
10/30: Exercised 2010-11 team options on the
contracts of Jared Dudley and Robin Lopez,
and declined the 2010-11 option on Alando
Tucker.
10/30: Steve Nash recorded sixth career 20-assist
game in the Suns’ home opener against the
Golden State Warriors.
11/9: Steve Nash tied Kevin Johnson’s franchise
record with his seventh career 20-assist
game, all as a Sun, in a game at
Philadelphia. Nash became the first player in
NBA history to record multiple 20-assist
efforts in the first eight games of a season.
12/1: Alvin Gentry earned first career NBA
Western Conference Coach of the Month
award after leading the Suns to a franchiserecord
tying 14-3 start in October/November.
12/2: Suns Chairman Jerry Colangelo elected
Chairman of the Board of the Basketball Hall
of Fame.
12/7: Assigned Taylor Griffin to the Iowa Energy
of the NBA D-League. Griffin was recalled
Dec. 14.
12/28: Assigned Taylor Griffin to the Iowa Energy
of the NBA D-League. Griffin was recalled on
Jan. 20.
12/29: Traded Alando Tucker, a conditional secondround
pick and cash considerations to the
Timberwolves for Jason Hart. The Suns then
waived Hart.
1/21: Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire named
starters on the Western Conference All-Star
team. The annual game was held in Dallas,
TX, at Cowboys Stadium.
1/23: Leandro Barbosa underwent surgery to
remove a cyst on his right wrist.
1/28: Suns overcame a double-digit deficit with a
reserve-led effort, defeating the Dallas
Mavericks 112-106 at US Airways Center. The
win propelled the previously struggling Suns
to a 28-7 finish to the season, the best mark
of any Western Conference team.
2/13: Steve Nash won the PlayStation Skills
Challenge on NBA All-Star Saturday.
Channing Frye participated in three-point
shootout.
3/9: Channing Frye (one-game suspension) and
Jason Richardson (fine) among five Suns
and Pacers either fined or suspended by the
NBA following an altercation during a game
between the two clubs on March 6.
3/15: Assigned Earl Clark to the Iowa Energy of
the NBA D-League. Clark was recalled on
March 21.
3/28: Robin Lopez was sidelined by a back injury
that winds up keeping him out of the regular
season’s final 10 games and the first two
rounds of the playoffs. Lopez returned for
the Western Conference Finals.
