Easy Replacement of <strong>Handset</strong><br />
Maintenance<br />
Easy replacement can be used if a handset needs to be replaced. The easy replacement<br />
procedure is done via the handset display and the <strong>5624</strong> Programmer, or the rack charger.<br />
The following settings are replaced during easy replacement:<br />
• registration<br />
• <strong>User</strong> parameters (including <strong>User</strong> ID)<br />
• Contacts<br />
• The extension number is assigned to the new handset.<br />
The following settings are not replaced during the easy replacement:<br />
• Call list<br />
• Messages<br />
• License(s) 1<br />
Before Starting the Easy Replacement Procedure<br />
1. Check that both the old handset (that is, the handset to be replaced) and the new handset<br />
(that is, the replacement handset) are of the same device type (<strong>5624</strong>).<br />
Note: It is possible to perform Easy Replacement between different licenses (that is;<br />
<strong>5624</strong> Standard, <strong>5624</strong> Services, <strong>5624</strong> Personal Alarm, and <strong>5624</strong> Location). The new<br />
handset’s license is not replaced by the old handset’s license during the procedure 1 .<br />
2. Make sure that the handset batteries are charged before starting the easy replacement<br />
procedure.<br />
3. Switch off the new handset by long pressing .<br />
1. A license (that includes the handset variant and/or license dependent features) can be moved to another handset using<br />
PDM/WSM.<br />
