pH was adjusted by add<strong>in</strong>g 4ml tartaric acid after autoclav<strong>in</strong>g the<br />

medium at 10 Ibs for 10 m<strong>in</strong>.<br />

The plates were <strong>in</strong>cubated at 28±OAoC for 7 days and 20 bacterial<br />

colonies from each sample and medium were isolated onto respective<br />

medium slants .Altogether 180 colonies were isolated which were<br />

subsequently purified and stocked <strong>in</strong> media vials overlaid with sterile<br />

liquid paraff<strong>in</strong> for further study.(Fungi were not found to have developed<br />

on husk <strong>in</strong>fusion Sabouraud dextrose agar plates.)<br />
