Referring to that principle, an objective of the St<strong>and</strong>ard Space Vector Modulation is the<br />

approximation of the reference stator voltage vector U S with an appropriate combination<br />

of the switching patterns composed of basic space vectors. A graphical explanation of<br />

this objective is shown in Figure 4-71 <strong>and</strong> Figure 4-72.<br />

The stator reference voltage vector U S is phase-advanced by 30 ° from the axis- α <strong>and</strong><br />

thus might be generated with an appropriate combination of the adjacent basic switching<br />

states U 0 <strong>and</strong> 60. These figures also indicate the resultant U α <strong>and</strong> U β components <strong>for</strong><br />

space vectors U 0 <strong>and</strong> U 60.<br />
