Parent Education<br />
HEALTH SCIENCES, EDUCATION & WELLNESS<br />
The Parent Education program provides parents<br />
with support, skills, and knowledge to help them<br />
in their task of raising healthy families. Every<br />
class offers age-appropriate children’s programs.<br />
These classes are located on our BCC campus and<br />
throughout our communities including Snoqualmie,<br />
<strong>Fall</strong> City, Carnation, Renton, Sammamish, Issaquah,<br />
<strong>Bellevue</strong>, and Mercer Island. One-day-a-week<br />
classes as well as cooperative preschools offer your<br />
child a rich early learning experience.<br />
Registration for the September-June school<br />
year begins in January, with continuous<br />
enrollment until classes are full. Call (425)<br />

Infant labs<br />
Classes for families with newborns up to one year<br />
of age. Parent and baby attend together.<br />
Wobblers/1st and 2nd Year Toddlers<br />
Classes for families with one-, two-, and young<br />
three-year-olds. Parent and child attend together.<br />
Cooperative Preschools<br />
Includes parent involvement, leadership, and<br />
parent education. Starting at age three, the two- to<br />
four-day-a-week preschools offer developmentally<br />
appropriate curriculum from trained early<br />
childhood education teachers. Parent education is<br />
provided by college faculty.<br />
ENRICHMENT CLASSES<br />
Creative Development Lab.<br />
One-day-a-week class for hands-on creative activities<br />
for three- and four-year-old children. Includes<br />
parent involvement and parent education based<br />
on the cooperative model.<br />
Discovery Lab<br />
One-day-a-week late afternoon class for the<br />
scientist in the family designed for five- to sevenyear-old<br />
children. A parent education workshop is<br />
held monthly.<br />
P.A.L.S. (Parents As Learners in School)<br />
A new parent education program serving the<br />
families attending the BCC Early Learning, Family,<br />
and Childcare Center.<br />
Summer Kids Camp<br />
For children ages 3-5 years on the BCC campus<br />
during Summer Quarter. Summer Kids Camp offers<br />
a flexible class schedule at a reasonable cost.<br />
