Basic Information
Eligibility for BCC
If you are 18 or older or have earned a high
school diploma, you are welcome to apply for
admission and take college credit classes. High
school students may enroll at BCC; contact the
High School Programs Office, (425) 564-2026.
How to Enroll in
Credit Classes
1. Admission
If you are new to BCC or returning after two or
more quarters (or four quarters after July 1,
2006), you will need to submit an admission
application. Please access the BCC website,
www.bcc.ctc.edu to apply. BCC requires an
admissions fee of $26.55 for your application to
be processed. By applying early you will receive
information about when you may begin enrolling,
and information about assessment, advising,
and other steps to follow. You can also learn
your registration time online after your admission
fee has been received and the application
is processed. If you do not meet the admissions
deadline, you may still register for classes. See
Registration section (#4 below). Follow online
application instructions for payment. Attach
payment to paper applications. Admission fee is
non-refundable.
2. Assessment
An English and math assessment is mandatory
for first-time college students and strongly recommended
for all others. It identifies your skill
level and appropriate course placement and is
required before registering for some classes.

edu/enrollment/assessment/testing for specific
dates/times.
Assessments are given in room B132. Please bring
picture ID and the $16.90 assessment fee.
You may also take math and English assessments
in the North Campus Testing Center, on
a space-available basis. Call (425) 564-4006 for
available times.
3. Academic Advising
Continuing Students: Your key to successful

Sessions meet in room C225, which is upstairs
in the Student Union Building. A printable
campus map is located within the Fall Quarter
schedule or at http://www.bcc.ctc.edu/about/
around/directions/maps/main-office.asp. Seating
is limited. Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to the
session’s start time. Late arrivals will be asked to
reschedule. Sessions may run up to two hours.
Walk-ins are taken on a space-available basis.
Due to inclement weather or unforeseen
circumstances, session details or dates may be

4. Web Registration
If you are:
■ A current student or a returning student who
earned credits in any of the two previous quarters
(or four quarters after July 1, 2006) OR
■ A new student or a returning student who
earned credits more than two quarters ago
(or four quarters after July 1, 2006) AND who
submitted an admission application and
$26.55 fee by August 11
you were assigned a registration access time.
You can check this time on the Web. You also
will receive registration information including
your “access time” via your e-mail. If you
don’t receive this information, make sure the
college has your correct e-mail address – check
the website or visit the Student Service Center.
You may register for classes on the Web from
your assigned access time through the third
day of the academic quarter. You may drop or
withdraw from classes on the Web until the end
of the seventh week.
If you are:
■ A new or former student who applied after
August 11
you will be assigned an access time for Web registration
within 2-4 days after your application
and $26.55 admission fee is processed by the
Admissions Office. You may register for classes
on the Web from your assigned access time
through the third day of the academic quarter.
You may drop or withdraw from classes on the
Web until the end of the seventh week.
To use Web registration, you must know your
Student Identification Number and your Personal
Identification Number (PIN). Your birth
date is initially assigned as your PIN. For your
own protection, please change your PIN the first
time you use Web registration.
