The experimental results for the second PCA-based technique, PPCA, are also<br />

not satisfactory. This technique also segments the data first and then performs in-<br />

dexing on these segments. The segment end points detected by the technique are<br />

accurate but it also creates a number of false segments. These small and false seg-<br />

ments are responsible for a large number of false positives (see Fig 5.5). On the other<br />

hand, the number of false negatives is reasonably low (see Fig 5.4).<br />
