Dynamic time warping tries to find the matching between the two files based on<br />

the minimum distance warping path. DTW matching is affected if there are pattern<br />

differences in the files. For example, if the query is an action describing a jump and<br />

the dataset file is a hop, then DTW-Quat will return a rejection. Similarly, a fast<br />

walk or a walk with swinging arms gives a low score when matched with a normal<br />

walk. There are a large number of false negatives detected (see Fig 5.8). We make<br />

use of all 30 joints to calculate the local distance measure and the distance increases<br />

even if a small number of joints mismatch. The noticeable feature of this technique<br />

is that the number of false positives is zero because to have a match there should be<br />

a very small difference in the joint configurations (see Fig 5.9).<br />
