Maintenance MSS <strong>Fly</strong> 50 <strong>4T</strong><br />
Checking the valve clearance<br />
- Remove the spark plug access cover, undo the<br />
4 fixing screws indicated in the figure and remove<br />
the tappet cover.<br />
- To check valve clearance, centre the reference<br />
marks of the timing system point as described<br />
above.<br />
- Use an adequate thickness gauge to check that<br />
the clearance between the valve and the register<br />
corresponds with the indicated values.<br />
Should the valve clearance values, intake and<br />
drainage respectively, be different from the ones<br />
indicated below, adjust them by loosening the lock<br />
nut and operate on the register with a screwdriver<br />
as shown in the figure.<br />

Headlight adjustment<br />
Proceed as follows:<br />
1. Place the vehicle, in running order and with the<br />
tyres inflated to the prescribed pressure, on a flat<br />
surface 10-m away from a white screen situated in<br />
a shaded area, making sure that the longitudinal<br />
axis of the scooter is perpendicular to the screen;<br />
2. Turn on the headlight and check that the bor-<br />
derline of the projected light beam on the screen<br />
is not lower than 9/10 of the distance from the<br />
ground to the centre of vehicle headlamp and high-<br />
er than 7/10;<br />
3. If otherwise, adjust the right headlight with screw<br />
«A».<br />
