Remove Pinion Assembly<br />

Procedure -<br />

1. Remove pinion bearing cage cap screws. Remove<br />

pinion and cage assembly from carrier. Remove<br />

shim pack.<br />

WARNING<br />

Do not allow pinion to drop on hard surface<br />

If gear set is to be reused, keep pinion bearing cage shim<br />

pack intact for use in reassembly. If the original shims cannot<br />

be reused, record the number and size of shims in the<br />

pack.<br />
