8. Ergonomic shape can be implemented
by applying one or several plastic layers
onto the surface in various colours. We
also provide a two-layer protective plastic
coating for tools intended for use under
high voltage conditions.
9. Cold forging is a procedure used to forge material at ambient temperatures.
Blanks for cold forging have to be precisely cut, heat and chemicaly treated. With
heat treatment the metal is made softer and easier to forge.
With chemical treatment the blank is coated with a layer of lubricant to reduce
friction during forging. The forge production is carried out with suitable press
equipment. Compared to hot forging less material is used and tighter tolerances
are achieved. Compared to machining less material is also used, but the main
advantage is that the fibres inside of part are not cut as they are with machining.
At Unior we use three different presses for cold forging. We can produce symmetric
shaped parts up to 100mm in diameter and to a maximum length of 200mm
from different types of steel. For forged parts we can also offer additional machining
and heat treatment if necessary.
