<strong>NOx</strong> <strong>Emissions</strong> Report<br />

While the <strong>in</strong>foUSA Bus<strong>in</strong>ess/Employer database conta<strong>in</strong>s fairly detailed <strong>in</strong>formation on<br />

the bus<strong>in</strong>ess itself, it unfortunately does not <strong>of</strong>fer detailed facility (structure) specific area<br />

(size) <strong>in</strong>formation. Each bus<strong>in</strong>ess’ facilities are simply classified <strong>in</strong>to one <strong>of</strong> four broad<br />

area categories, with all facilities <strong>of</strong> 40,000 square feet or more identified under the same<br />

category. To ascerta<strong>in</strong> more detailed category and facility specific (build<strong>in</strong>g) area<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation for the region, data <strong>from</strong> the Harris County Appraisal District (HCAD) was<br />

utilized. HCAD data for every build<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Harris County was downloaded <strong>from</strong> the<br />

HCAD Public Data site. It was then processed, filtered, and summarized for each <strong>CHP</strong><br />

candidate application type us<strong>in</strong>g SAS. The build<strong>in</strong>g database’s Build<strong>in</strong>g Style Code field<br />

was used to group each structure with the correspond<strong>in</strong>g NAICS code <strong>of</strong> <strong>in</strong>terest.<br />

Facility types were then summarized and aggregated <strong>in</strong>to prototype groups with<strong>in</strong> each<br />

candidate category, by square footage, based on their similar energy load pr<strong>of</strong>iles and<br />
