NOx emission impacts are proportional to the technical potential for CHP
implementation in each project size category. While a large number of small projects are
potentially possible, the total project capacity is about one-third of that at the largest
facilities. This data is graphically presented in Figure 3-1, which shows that about 60% of
the total NOx savings achievable in the industrial sector is created through the
development of large CHP projects.
