1.3. Calling PCFP Functions
Using PCFP
Figures 1–1, 1–6, and 1–11 show calls to three different PCFP functions. These figures
illustrate PCFP functions of various complexities and with different mixes of input and
output parameters.
These figures contain logic charts depicting programs that set up parameters, call a
PCFP function, and process the information returned by that PCFP function. The figures
also contain supporting information, such as illustrations of the input parameters prior to
calling the PCFP function and an illustration of a repeating return entry from a PCFP
function that returns repeating information.
In later sections of this manual, the information in these figures is shown in specific
program language examples. Section 11 shows examples of these programs written in
the C language. Section 12 shows examples of these programs written in COBOL.
Section 13 shows examples of these programs written in FORTRAN.
1.3.1. Calling PCFP to Delete a File
Figure 1–1 shows the process associated with calling a PCFP function that requires
minimal setup. In this figure, PCFP is called to delete the file A*B. Procedures 1 – 7 are
explained following the figure.
