BVL participates in National
Veterans Day ceremonies
BVL Board Members
welcomed special guests Peter
Hamilton, Senior Vice President
and Chief Financial Officer,
Brunswick Corp., and John
Walker, President and CEO
QubicaAMF Worldwide, to the
Veterans Day ceremonies at Arlington
Cemetery on November
11, to join in our nation's salute
to America’s veterans. Also in
attendance were representatives
from Thunderbird Lanes (Philadelphia
area) as well as leaders
from the Nation’s Capital Area
USBC, Appomattox River (VA)
USBC and Alleghany-Bath (VA)
USBC.
For Hamilton and Walker,
the day began with a breakfast
at the White House hosted by
President and Mrs. Obama

league, pocketed power-laden

earning high-set honors for the
month at Fiesta Lanes.
Misty Kaiser registered a

prestigious committee, BVL
received two tickets to the
breakfast, at which Hamilton
and Walker represented BVL.
Next on the BVL agenda was
participation in the Presidential
Color Guard for the formal
ceremonies at the Amphitheater
at Arlington National Cemetery.
BVL Board Members Marci

Libbi Fletcher (Detroit, MI)
carried the American and BVL
flags respectively, representing
BVL with the nation’s leading
Veterans Service Organizations.

the lanes as part of official PBA
League competition.
During the first four days
of the Detroit Winter Swing,
the PBA will conduct a series
of open-field tournaments (the
Carmen Salvino Classic, Mark
Roth Classic, Don Carter Classic
and Earl Anthony Players
Championship). Those four
events will award individual
PBA Tour titles and the qualifying
scores posted by each PBAL
team member will be combined
to produce the team qualifying
scores for the ESPN telecasts.
All PBAL matches on ESPN
will be Baker Format matches,
where each team member will
bowl two frames in each game.

Personally, I never expect to
roll a 300 game, I’ll leave a ten
pin at some time during the ten
frames. However, I have all the
key chains I need. I bowled a
250 game and got a key chain.
My friend on another team
rolled a 700 series and got the
same key chain as I got. Now
I ask you, Is it harder to roll
three games equaling 700 plus,
or bowling one game for 250?
Come on USBC you can do
better. The awards are laughed
at by most.

Well, it’s time to check my
equipment and try and raise
my average the rest of this
year. There are a lot of tournaments
I am scheduled to bowl
and I don’t want to look too
foolish. Here’s hoping you all
have a great 2013, but most of
