A1.2 PRESENTATION OF THE MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Parks and Countryside Service have reviewed their approach to the
Green Flag Management & Maintenance Plan, developing a new
framework, which divides the Plan into 6 Parts for ease of reference,
updating and navigation.
• Part A - is the Management & Maintenance Plan;
• Part B - contains the annually updated information;
• Part C - any generic appendices
A1.3 PURPOSE AND PRESENTATION OF MANAGEMENT &
MAINTENANCE PLAN
The purpose of this Plan is:-
• To support & contribute to the aims & objectives for managing &
maintaining this Garden.
• To monitor the improvements to site management and customer
service in accordance with the criteria of the Heritage Lottery
Management Plan, Green Flag and Charter Mark.
It is a dynamic document to guide the site manager and all those involved
in achieving the vision for the site.
A1.4 THOSE INVOLVED IN PREPARING THIS PLAN
Sheffield Botanical Gardens has undergone a recent, Restoration and
Regeneration Project. This has been successfully achieved through a
partnership combining:-
• Sheffield City Council (SCC) Parks, & Countryside Service (P&C)
• The Friends of the Botanical Gardens Sheffield (FOBS)
• The Sheffield Botanical Gardens Trust (SBGT)
• The Sheffield Town Trust (STT)
• The University of Sheffield Landscape Department
This Partnership Group has been actively involved since the bid to the
Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 1995, through the project implementation
and as part of the process of preparing the HLF Management &
Maintenance Plan.
