5 Appointment and Facilities
In the Dutch system, PhD Candidates are salaried employees. However, there are
more financial issues than your salary alone that you need to think about. These
include additional income, a savings programme, insurance, and compensation for
moving expenses. Generally, PhD candidates are paid according to the collective
labour agreement (‘CAO’) for Dutch universities; see also http://www.vsnu.nl.

When you start working at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, you will find that
