Troubleshooting ■ iPod Note In case of a transmission error without a status message appearing in the front panel and in the OSD, check the connection to your iPod (see page 17). 60 En Status message Cause Remedy Loading... Connect error Unknown type The receiver is in the middle of recognizing the connection with your iPod. The receiver is in the middle of acquiring song lists from your iPod. There is a problem with the signal path from your iPod to the receiver. The iPod being used is not supported by the receiver. iPod connected Your iPod is properly stationed in a YAMAHA iPod universal dock (such as YDS-10 sold separately) connected to the DOCK terminal of the receiver, and the connection between your iPod and the receiver is complete. Disconnected Unable to play Your iPod was removed from a YAMAHA iPod universal dock (such as YDS-10 sold separately) connected to the DOCK terminal of the receiver. The receiver cannot play back the songs currently stored on your iPod. Turn off the receiver and reconnect the YAMAHA iPod universal dock to the DOCK terminal of the receiver. See page Try resetting your iPod. — Only iPod (Click and Wheel), iPod nano, and iPod mini are supported. Station your iPod back in a YAMAHA iPod universal dock (such as YDS-10 sold separately) connected to the DOCK terminal of the receiver. Check that the songs currently stored on your iPod are playable. Store some other playable music files on your iPod. — 17 — 17 —
DVD player (DVD-E810) Problem Cause Remedy Power turns on but immediately shuts off. Power immediately shuts off during playback. The TV (monitor) does not show the picture properly. The screen size of the TV or monitor looks strange (the image is distorted or the subtitle is missing). No sound or distorted sound No audio at digital output The power cable is not connected or the plug is not completely inserted. Auto-standby function of the receiver works when the receiver can not receive the playing signal transmitted from the DVD player with the system control cable for 30 minutes. The component video signal output setting may not match the video connection. The color system setting of the DVD player may not match the specification of your TV. The progressive scan mode may be used with a TV that does not support it. The disc being played back may not be compatible with the DVD player. Occasionally, a small amount of picture distortion may appear depending on the disc being played back. This is not a malfunction. The TV size setting of the DVD player to match the connection method. When the progressibe scan mode is activated, image with a 4:3 aspect ratio are played back on a 16:9 wide television screen. The sampling rate of a MP3 or WMA file may not be compatible with the DVD player. Troubleshooting See page Connect the power cable firmly. 18 Check the connection of the system control cable between the receiver and the DVD player. Set “COMPONENT” of the DVD player to match the connection method. Check that the color system of your TV, and then set “TV TYPE”of the DVD player to match it. Set “PROGRESSIVE” to “OFF”. 54 Check that the disc is compatible with the DVD player. Set “TV DISPLAY” of the DVD player to match your TV, or check the screen size setting of your TV. Set “TV DISPLAY” of the DVD player to adjust the screen size. If you cannot adjust it, set “PROGRESSIVE” to “OFF”. Check the sampling rate and bit rate of an MP3 or WMA file are compatible with the DVD player. Incorrect digital cable connections. Connect the digital cables properly. 16 The disc being played back may not be compatible with the DVD player. The digital output settings of the DVD player may not be set properly. Check that the disc is compatible with the DVD player.
