The applied methodol<strong>og</strong>y <strong>for</strong> uncertainty estimates refers to Pulles &<br />

Aardenne (2004). The Danish uncertainty estimates are based on the simple<br />

Tier 1 approach described in IPCC Good Practice Guidance (IPCC, 2000).<br />

The uncertainty estimates are based on the calculated emissions <strong>for</strong> the base<br />

year and <strong>for</strong> the latest inventory year and on the uncertainty rates <strong>for</strong> both<br />

activity data and emission factors. Data is aggregated <strong>for</strong> the NFR category 1<br />

B - Fugitive Emissions from Fuels. Base year refers to 2000 <strong>for</strong> particulate<br />

matter and to 1990 <strong>for</strong> the remaining components.<br />

The uncertainty rates are based on the EMEP/EEA emission inventory<br />

guidebook (2009), on uncertainty estimates from a minor number of companies<br />

and on estimates and assumptions by <strong>DCE</strong>. The applied uncertainty<br />

levels <strong>for</strong> activity data and emission factors are given in Table 3.58. The uncertainty<br />

rates vary between pollutants because the emission sources vary as<br />

well.<br />
