Coal and natural gas are the most utilised fuels <strong>for</strong> stationary combustion<br />

plants. Coal is mainly used in power plants and natural gas is used in power<br />

plants and decentralised combined heating and power (CHP) plants, as well<br />

as in industry, district heating, residential plants and off-shore gas turbines<br />

(see Figure 3.2).<br />
