<strong>Student</strong> Rights and Responsibilities<br />
Reservation <strong>of</strong> Power<br />
The NSU <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong> is not intended to be a contract or part <strong>of</strong> a contractual agreement between<br />
NSU and the student. The NSU <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Handbook</strong> is available online at www.nova.edu/cwis/studentaffairs<br />
/forms/ustudenthandbook.pdf. Changes in the content <strong>of</strong> the student handbook may be made at anytime,<br />
by the university, division, or college administration. Whenever possible, adequate notice <strong>of</strong> anticipated<br />
changes will be given to the student. This student handbook supersedes all previous handbooks,<br />
documents, and directives where they may be in conflict. The student handbook is the governing document<br />
for all program-related information. Please become familiar with the policies and procedures listed<br />
within. Failure to read this handbook does not excuse students from the rules, policies, and procedures<br />
contained in it. <strong>Student</strong>s are expected to be familiar and comply with all the policies and procedures<br />
contained within the student handbook, including any revisions or modifications.<br />
<strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Southeastern</strong> University reserves the right to amend, modify, add to, or delete its rules, policies,<br />
and procedures without notice, affecting its institutional relationship with students as deemed necessary<br />
by the administration. Any such amendment, modification, addition, or deletion shall not be<br />
considered a violation <strong>of</strong> the relationship between the university and the student. Such right includes<br />
modification to academic requirements, curriculum, tuition, and/or fees when in the judgment <strong>of</strong> the<br />
administration such changes are required in the exercise <strong>of</strong> its educational responsibility.<br />
Nondiscrimination Statement<br />
Consistent with all federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and/or local ordinances (e.g. Title<br />
VII, Title VI, Title III, Title II, Rehab Act, ADA, Title IX), it is the policy <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Southeastern</strong><br />
University not to engage in discrimination or harassment against any persons because <strong>of</strong> race, color,<br />
religion or creed, sex, pregnancy, national or ethnic origin, nondisqualifying disability, age, ancestry,<br />
marital status, sexual orientation, unfavorable discharge from the military, veteran status, political<br />

Code <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Conduct and Academic Responsibility<br />
Purpose: This code seeks to promote high standards <strong>of</strong> behavior and academic integrity by setting forth<br />
the responsibilities <strong>of</strong> students as members <strong>of</strong> the university community. Abiding by the code ensures a<br />
climate wherein all members <strong>of</strong> the university community can exercise their rights <strong>of</strong> membership.<br />
