late registration<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s who have completed one full year at the university and who cannot meet their financial<br />
obligations by the 30th day <strong>of</strong> class are considered late registrants. <strong>Student</strong>s who register after the<br />
late registration date established by their college will be charged a late fee or penalty established by<br />
the university or the division.<br />
The following will apply:<br />
• recipients <strong>of</strong> Armed Forces scholarships shall be allowed up to<br />
three months’ grace period without penalty<br />
• when confirmation <strong>of</strong> guaranteed loans has been received, but<br />
checks are delayed, credit will be extended for three months<br />
consequences for nonpayment<br />
The student’s failure to meet financial obligations in accordance with university policy at the end<br />
<strong>of</strong> 70 days will result in an automatic letter <strong>of</strong> notification being sent to the student informing<br />
him/ her that failure to resolve his/ her financial obligation within 10 days will result in administrative<br />
withdrawal from class. The university bursar shall<br />
• identify those students who have still failed to meet their<br />
financial obligation at the end <strong>of</strong> each 30-day period<br />
• notify those students <strong>of</strong> their failure to pay<br />
• forward to the program <strong>of</strong>fice the names <strong>of</strong> all students in delinquent<br />
status for the program <strong>of</strong>fice to take appropriate administrative action<br />
Those students who fail to meet financial obligations shall not receive an academic transcript or diploma.<br />
Tuition refund Policy—Voluntary Withdrawals<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s who wish to withdraw must submit a written request for voluntary withdrawal to the dean,<br />
who will evaluate the student’s request. After completing the required withdrawal form (s) and<br />
obtaining the dean’s approval, an eligible student may receive partial refund <strong>of</strong> the tuition, according<br />
to the following formula:<br />
First three class days ..........................70 percent<br />
Fourth or fifth class day ....................60 percent<br />
Sixth or seventh class day ................40 percent<br />
Eighth, ninth, or tenth class day ......20 percent<br />
After the tenth class day ....................0 percent<br />
No refunds will be made thereafter. (<strong>Student</strong>s with questions should consult the program <strong>of</strong>fice.)<br />
<strong>Student</strong>s may not be given refunds for portions <strong>of</strong> tuition paid by financial aid funds. As appropriate,<br />
the respective financial aid programs will be credited in accordance with federal regulations. <strong>Student</strong>s<br />
should notify the Office <strong>of</strong> <strong>Student</strong> Financial Assistance prior to withdrawing to determine the effect<br />
this will have on financial aid. For complete withdrawals, please refer to the Return <strong>of</strong> Title IV Funds<br />
section <strong>of</strong> the student handbook.<br />
Failure to comply with these requirements could jeopardize future receipt <strong>of</strong> the Title IV student<br />
assistance funds at any institution <strong>of</strong> higher education the student may attend.<br />
A refund due the student will be mailed to the student’s permanent home address or deposited<br />
directly into his or her checking account as soon as the dean <strong>of</strong> the respective college has approved<br />
the withdrawal. The tuition refund policy is subject to change at the discretion <strong>of</strong> the university’s<br />
board <strong>of</strong> trustees.<br />
