2.5.2 - Force10 Networks

• for a 4.1 BSD UNIX system, include this line in the /etc/syslog.conf file
local7.debugging /var/log/force10.log
• for a 5.7 SunOS UNIX system, include this line in the /etc/syslog.conf file
local7.debugging /var/adm/force10.log
In the lines above, local7 is the logging facility and debugging is the Syslog level. Therefore the Syslog
daemon sends all messages since debugging is the lowest Syslog level. Refer to the logging facility and
logging host command descriptions, above, for more information on those keywords and on setting the
output from the switch.
To view the logging configuration, use the show logging hosts unit command in the EXEC privilege
mode (see Figure 58 on page 98).
