<strong>Hofstra</strong> in<br />

the NCAA<br />

Tournament<br />

The <strong>Hofstra</strong> <strong>Basketball</strong> program has received<br />

eight invitations to the NCAA <strong>Basketball</strong><br />

Championships. Four came while <strong>Hofstra</strong><br />

played on the Division II level in the 1960s,<br />

while the other four have <strong>com</strong>e at the Division<br />

I level. Two of the Division I appearances came<br />

during the 1970s as a member of the East Coast<br />

Conference. In all, the Pride has played <strong>12</strong><br />

NCAA Tournament games in their history and<br />

have posted a 4-8 record.<br />

Invitation<br />

Tournament<br />

<strong>Hofstra</strong> has received three invitations to the<br />

National Invitation Tournament (NIT), including<br />

each of the last two seasons. The 1998-99 squad<br />

was selected after a 22-9 season, the 2004-05<br />

squad earned a bid after a 21-8 campaign, while the<br />

2005-06 team was chosen after a 24-6 campaign.<br />

The 2005-06 squad reached the quarterfinals after<br />

picking up two NIT victories over Nebraska and<br />
