DIRECTOR OF BASKETBALL OPERATIONS<br />
KYLE STEINWAY<br />
Kyle Steinway is entering his second year as the<br />
director of men’s basketball operations at <strong>Hofstra</strong> in<br />
<strong>2011</strong>-<strong>12</strong>.<br />
Steinway joined the Pride staff after serving in 2009-<br />
10 as assistant men’s basketball coach at Newberry<br />
College under current <strong>Hofstra</strong> associate head coach<br />
Steven DeMeo. Steinway had responsibilities with<br />
every aspect of the men’s basketball program at<br />
Newberry, including coordinating a recruiting effort<br />
that brought in 10 student-athletes in just over one<br />
month. He also coordinated the program’s scouting,<br />
and managed the program’s budget and travel<br />
arrangements.<br />
A 2003 graduate of Providence College with a degree<br />
in economics, Steinway was a basketball team manager<br />
for all four years. He served as an assistant coach<br />
at Division II Stonehill College during the 2003-04<br />
season, and then worked for one year in the sports<br />
information department at Iona College in 2004-05.<br />
Steinway returned to Providence in 2005, serving as a graduate<br />
assistant for the basketball program for two years while earning<br />
his master’s degree in business administration. In that role,<br />
he was responsible for supervising a staff of seven student<br />
managers, while also serving as the program’s film exchange<br />
coordinator. He then served as the Friars’ video coordinator/<br />
administrative assistant for the 2007-08 season.<br />
