General Conclusion 128! The first foundation, how to elicit a wide range of emotions, was targeted in the first paper. Building on that, different scenarios containing several diagnostic intervals can be developed in future experiments and tested within a standardised simulated environment or directly on the road. Objective assessments related to cognitive processes, such as eye-tracking for attention-deployment, and subjective statements of perceived risk in specific situations can complete the experimental setting. This approach will hopefully lead to a much better understanding of the emotional richness found in experiences of vehicular traffic and the impact of emotions on driving behaviour. The three articles presented in this work comprise one important step in this direction.
