Charlene Willis Billie<br />

January 21, 1957 – September 8, <strong>2011</strong><br />

harlene Willis Billie was born on January 21, 1957, to Grady and Pearl Hickman Willis,<br />

at the old <strong>Indian</strong> <strong>Health</strong> Hospital in Philadelphia, Mississippi. She attended Choctaw<br />

Central High School from 1973 – 1976. She attended East Central Vocational Training at Pearl River<br />

in 1983–1984. She lived in Fort Polk, Louisiana from 1977 – 1978. Charlene returned to the Pearl<br />

River community to be employed by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw <strong>Indian</strong>s from 1978–1983 as<br />

a secretary for the Property and Supply Department. In June 1976 she married Mr. Larry Billie, a<br />

<strong>Nashville</strong> <strong>Area</strong> Office IT Specialist. She and Larry were married for 35 years. She is survived by her<br />

husband, two daughters and 10 grandchildren.<br />

Charlene moved to <strong>Nashville</strong>, Tennessee in 1984 to work as a secretary for the <strong>Indian</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Service</strong>.<br />

She served the <strong>Nashville</strong> <strong>Area</strong> Office with honor and dedication for over 27 years.
